Dr. Sven Stegemann
Dr. Sven Stegemann was born in 1960 in Duisburg (Germany). After finishing the high school, he studied Pharmacy at the Free University in Berlin from 1985 - 1989. During his practical year he work at the Bundesgesundheitsamt (BGA former »Bundesamt für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte«, BfArM), where he gathered experience in drug regulations.
From 1990 to 1992 he worked as a PhD student at the Institute of Medicine at the Research Center in Jülich (Germany) and received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Frankfurt in 1992. In 1992 he joined Sanofi-Winthrop in Munich (Germany) as a New Product Development Manager. During the years he took responsibilities in many different areas within Sanofi Winthrop, e.g. responsible for the galenical development and vice production manager at the Plantorgan site as well as project manager for transfer of manufacturing to other manufacturing sites in Sanofi Winthrop.
In 1996 he joined Asta Medica in Frankfurt (Germany) as a licensing manager.
In 1997 he joined Capsugel as a Business Development Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa. Beside the typical business development responsibility for the company, the function the function implies a close collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry on formulation development and manufacturing globally.
 
Within the pharmaceutical community he is active in different organizations. Since 2002 he is a board member of the EAPB and its Vice President since 2003. Since 2002 he is member of the Committee for Industrial Relations (CIR group) of the EUFEPS.
