Wieland W.
Wolf obtained a doctorate in biology from the University of Salzburg/Austria.
As a member of the Board of the Germany-based Rentschler Holding GmbH & Co.
KG, he is responsible for the strategy of the group’s biotech business.
Prior to this position, he was the head of operations of Rentschler Biotechnologie
GmbH from 1993 to 2005. During this term he led the company through its transformation
from a product-oriented enterprise into an established service provider and
CMO.
He had
started his professional career in the development group of "Bioferon
GmbH" as a molecular biologist contributing to the development, and later
as director of production to the manufacturing of several biopharmaceutical
drugs.
Furthermore,
he is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial
Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB, Stuttgart, Germany), Vice Chairman
of the Supervisory Board of Kenta Biotech AG (Bern, Switzerland), Deputy
Chairman of the Biotechnology Department of the German Pharmaceutical Association
(BPI), Member of the Dechema Study Group for Cell Culture Technology, and
has been consultant to the German Ministry of Research and Technology.
