Guidelines
for Authors Journal "NewDrugs"
Do not make up a complete layout with integrated illustrations!!
Articles should be delivered in Winword (Word 97) with the illustrations
saved in separate files (e.g. Fig1.tif). Please arrange as follows:
Short, descriptive title
First name and second name of the author(s)
Address(es) of the author(s): Articles should be accompanied
by the full name and the complete address of the company or research
institute (incl. e-mail address).
Abstract (4 to 6 sentences): The abstract should raise the
interest of the reader and summarise briefly the content (maximum
of words: 100).
Continuous text (approx. 9,000 to max. 14,000 characters, tables
do not count!): Follow up the introduction with the actual topic,
i.e. a special process, technology or method, which should be presented
in the light of one or several examples. Break down the continuous
text with several sub-headlines. Above all else: Write in a simple,
clear style and in easy-to-understand terms. The article should
be practice-related. Basic research articles are appreciated which
have potential applications in industry in the near future.
Basic structure of articles:
Abstract
1. Introduction
2. Results & Discussion (or other appropriate heading)
2.1 Sub-headline
2.2 Sub-headline etc. ...
3. Summary, Conclusion or Perspectives
4. References
Tables (separated from text)
Figures (separated from text)
Please, bring the article to a close with a conclusion, summary
or perspectives with approx. 5 sentences.
Bibliography, references, patents, quotations: Please mark
with a serial number in square brackets in the corresponding positions
of the continuous text, e.g. [1]. Place an exact list of references
(no more than 10!) at the end of the continuous text.
References must be arranged as follows:
[1] A.-L. Cornaz, P. Buri, Nasal mucosa as an absorption barrier,
Eur. J. Pharm. Biopharm. 40 (1994) 261-270.
[5] C. Lanczos, Applied Analysis, Prenice-Hall, Englewood Cliffs,
NJ, 1967, pp. 272-280.
[10] D.M. Barends, Stability of active ingredients, in: H. Mžller,
W.H. Oeser (Eds.), Drug Master Files, Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft
mbH, Stuttgart, Germany, 1992, pp. 121-128.
[14] E.A. Balazs, Ultrapure hyaluronic acid and the use thereof,
U.S. Patent 4,141,973 (1979).
The system used by Chemical Abstracts (Chemical Abstracts Service
Source Index) must be followed for the abbreviations of journals.
Reference (14) is for patents, including the status, international
country code, number of patent and year.
Important: For technologies and products which are exclusive
by patent protection, please cite the (major) patents/patent
applications!
List captions (please keep short) one after the other at
the end of the text (separate "list of captions").
Boxed texts: You can use boxed texts to explain technical
terms or the technical background to an article. We will see to
the layout of the box. Simply add the text marked "boxed
text" to the end of the article.
Tables: You are welcome to include up to three tables. Simply
add them, one after the other, in Word format at the end of the
article. We will take care of the layout.
Figures: You can provide a maximum of four figures in print,
transparency or digital form. Ideally, illustrations should be attractive
and in colour. Our internal departments can optimise the design
of schematic drawings, if requested.
If you wish to use digital picture material, please make sure that
it has a minimum resolution of 320 dpi in tif, eps, bmp or jpg format.
Maximum total number of tables and figures: 5!
