Die Pharmaindustrie hat die frühe Forschung und Entwicklung im Bereich der Empfängnisverhütung weitgehend aufgegeben und wird sich wahrscheinlich nicht dazu verpflichten, neue Produkte auf den Markt zu bringen, es sei denn, sie wurden durch vielversprechende Ergebnisse in klinischen Studien in der Frühphase erheblich gefährdet. Dieses mangelnde Interesse der großen Pharmaindustrie kommt zu einer Zeit, in der wissenschaftliche und technologische Fortschritte in Biologie und Medizin mehr Möglichkeiten als je zuvor für die Entwicklung neuer und innovativer Arzneimittel schaffen.
Neuartige Partnerschaften zwischen dem akademischen Sektor, kleinen Biotechnologieunternehmen, Stiftungen, Nichtregierungsorganisationen (NRO) und der Bundesregierung könnten die Entwicklung neuer Verhütungsmittel beschleunigen. Wir diskutieren die Herausforderungen und Chancen, denen wir als NGO begegnet sind, mit der Mission, neuartige Verhütungsprodukte für Länder mit niedrigem und mittlerem Einkommen zu entwickeln, und wie sie sich von der Entwicklung von Produkten für Märkte mit höherem Einkommen unterscheiden. Reinigung, Charakterisierung und Spezifität einer neuen Galactosidase der GH-Familie 35 aus Aspergillus awamori.
Galaktosidasen, die in der Natur allgegenwärtig sind, sind komplexe kohlenhydrataktive Enzyme und finden umfangreiche Anwendungen in der Lebensmittel-, Pharma- und Biotechnologieindustrie. Die vorliegende Studie befasst sich mit der Produktion von Galactosidasen aus Pilzen durch Festkörperfermentation. 15 Pilze wurden gescreent und Aspergillus awamori (MTCC 548) zeigte die höchsten α- und β-Galactosidase-Aktivitäten von 75,11 ± 0,29 U / g bzw. 155,34 ± 1,26 U / g. 30 g Weizenkleie, substituiert mit 6% entfettetem Sojamehl, bei 28 ° C, pH 5,0 für 120 h, wurden als optimale Produktionsbedingungen durch Ein-Faktor-Ansatz festgelegt.
